The Presidency announced that President Cyril Ramaphosa will soon confirm the date, the commission’s mandate, and its chairperson.
It is expected to investigate whether there were attempts to obstruct the investigation or prosecution of apartheid-era crimes referred to the prosecuting authority – the NPA.
Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says there’s no better time to revisit apartheid-era crimes.
