South Africa’s envoy to the United Nations has told the Security Council that the brutal approach Israel displays in the Gaza war leads to the belief that its intentions are consistent with acts of genocide and further grave violations of international law. Ambassador Mathu Joyini was addressing the quarterly open debate of on the Middle East, including the Palestinian question at which the Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned that the promise of a two-state solution risked dwindling to a point of disappearance.
