The Hawks say they’ve made significant inroads in apprehending individuals in high-profile cases, ensuring accountability and justice for the victims. More than 650 suspects were arrested for serious and violent crimes in the fourth-quarter of the 2024/25 financial year. This was revealed by the Hawks head Godfrey Lebeya in Pretoria. Most of the arrests happened in Gauteng. Lebeya says over 300 firearms were recovered. And 22 police officers killed on and off duty in the same period.
