There has been an outpouring of appreciation for the prosecution team who secured a conviction of Joshlin Smith’s mother and her two co-accused on charges of human trafficking and kidnapping.
This, follows the landmark judgement in their favour in the Western Cape High Court on Friday.
The court found that the state proved beyond reasonable doubt that the six-year-old Joshlin Smith was kidnapped and exchanged for payment or the promise of payment by her own mother, Kelly Smith, and her two co-accused.
Now the trio faces the possibility of life behind bars.
