Members of teacher’s union, SADTU, have marched to the offices of the National Treasury and Basic Education Department to protest against austerity measures. They say these are harming the education sector and denying children the right to quality education. SADTU says teachers are working under severe and challenging conditions, including in overcrowded classrooms and inadequate schooling infrastructure.
